As a graduate of law from Aberystwyth University Paul started his political career in 2007 when he was stood as a North Wales Regional Candidate for the Welsh Conservatives and campaigned across the area on a range of issues.  In 2008 he was successful in being elected to Wrexham County Borough Council representing Brymbo ward.
