Under proposals Welsh Conservatives would

- Seek to increase penalties for environmental crime including littering, fly-tipping and dog fouling, and enforce the law effectively.
- Make Wales' National Parks accountable to local communities through direct elections to National Park Authorities.
- Promote a range of renewable energy sources.
Conservative Candidate Paul Rogers and Mark Isherwood AM visited a public consultation event held by the Glyn Valley Tramway Trust at Chirk where they discussed plans to reinstate the former tramway, improve the local environment and regenerate the area.
Speaking about the consultation Paul Rogers said
"The restoration of the tramway will bring a range of benefits to the Chirk area not only to the local economy but also through conservation and regeneration."
"I am delighted to have taken part in the consultation and support the plans for this tramway to be restored so that local history can be revived."
Following the consultation event they visited Ruabon where there have been concerns about empty properties in the centre of the community creating a negative visual impact upon the local environment.
