Paul Rogers takes on new heritage role

Welsh Assembly Candidate for Clwyd South Paul Rogers has been invited by the Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the assembly Nick Bourne to become a special policy advisor on heritage.

Paul Rogers has a keen interest in local heritage been working on a range of issues in communities across Clwyd South.

Paul has been working with Brymbo Heritage Group and council officers with a view to preventing further deterioration of listed buildings and scheduled ancient monuments on the former Brymbo Steelworks site.  He also supported Wrexham Council's successful bid for World Heritage Site status for the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and supports plans for the restoration of the Glyn Valley Tramway.

Commenting on the appointment Paul Rogers said

"Over the past few years I feel this is an area I have given a lot of attention.  Across Wales, particularly here in Clwyd South we have a rich heritage which is very important to our communities."

"As part of my campaign here in Clwyd South I am keen to meet people associated with heritage groups and discuss what more can be done to preserve and promote heritage in Wales"
